Maude Kerns Art Center
The Maude Kerns Art Center is a public art center in Eugene, Oregon that provides workshops, studio space and affordable rental housing for visual artists of all types. It is located at 1910 E 15th Ave, Eugene, OR 97403. We offer classes for beginners through professionals in many media at our 14 studio apartments and 130-seat theater. We also operate two resource centers offering workshops and studios for local artists: the Studio Resource Center offers classes and workspace to instructors from community colleges, universities and private schools; the Art Garage offers professional studios to support professional artists. The Art Center focuses on artist development through residencies, scholarships and access to materials. Our commitment to education creates an environment where new ideas can flourish. The Maude Kerns Art Center (MKAC) is an organization dedicated to providing affordable studio space, education and community to artists of all levels. Our studios, programs and resources aim to support individuals in their pursuit of art as a profession. The MKAC is an organization that is dedicated to providing affordable studio space, education and community to artists of all levels. Our studios, programs and resources aim to support individuals in their pursuit of art as a profession. We provide a variety of studio options for artists of all types, including 14 affordable apartments for artists, a 130-seat theater for classes and workshops, a Studio Resource Center for instructors from community colleges, universities and private schools, and 2 full service art garages for professionals. We also operate a retail gallery and retail store, serving local artists and the Eugene community.

The Art Garage – Located on North Broadway, the Art Garage is Eugene’s premier full service art studio space, offering 12 studios, 522 sq. ft. of work space, a dedicated art instruction room, storage and more. The Art Garage also offers a variety of classes and workshops, currently including: Painting the Urban Landscape, Drawing Basics, Creative Clay, Light/Shade, and Introduction to Ceramics. The facilities also include a 700+ sq. ft. gallery and shop space. The Studio Resource Center – Offering a variety of classes and workshops, the Studio Resource Center is located at the Eugene Art Center. The Studio Resource Center hosts the Visual Arts Institute (V.A.I.), a consortium of community colleges, universities and other educational organizations, offering an extensive curriculum and studio space for intensive instruction. The V.A.I. also offers classes in music, computer art, photography and other media. The Langton Gallery – The Langton Gallery is located inside the Eugene Art Center at 100 N. Broadway, and is open to the public. The Langton Gallery hosts a variety of art shows throughout the year, and is a great place to visit, meet artists, and get inspired by art. The Langton Gallery is open to the public and can be rented for all sorts of events, parties, meetings, etc.
